ROSIN Pressing Tips
Which Material Should I Use?
Yields range significantly and depend largely on the quality of the materials used.
- Trim/Shake 10% - 15%
- Flower: 15% - 30%
- Kief / Dry Sift: 30% - 60%+
- Bubble Hash / Hash: 30% - 70%+
Note: Adequate application of pressure is important to achieve optimal yields, and these figures are based on averages tests. Results may vary and depend heavily on your material as well as the operator.
Which Micron Bag To Use?
Depending on your material, the proper micron bags are suggested but results will always vary.
For kief, dry sift, hash, and bubble hash, use a 36 micron bag.
36 micron bags will provide the highest quality product.
For trim, and shake, use a 90 micron bag.
The 90 micron bags will give you more filtration and slightly higher quality product.
For Flower, use a 160 micron bag.
The 160 micron bags provide proper level of filtration and high yielding microns for use with flower, trim, and shake rosin pressing.
What Temperature Is Ideal?
Lower temperatures (180°F-200°F) = more flavor/terpenes, less yield, end material is more stable (shatter-like consistency)
Higher temperatures (200°F- 235°F) = less flavor/terpenes, more yield, end material is less stable (sap-like consistency)
Tips for Making High-Quality Rosin
Everyone’s goal when getting into making rosin is making the highest quality product using there rosin press. Luckily, we have designed our presses to be the most effective rosin press in the industry, giving you the best tool at the most affordable value. Here are some tips on getting the most out of your newly purchased rosin press from RosinPressNY.
Most people making rosin treat the extraction process like an art rather than science. The most important and simple tip to remember when extracting rosin is if you use high-quality input materials, you will also get the high-quality output.” And so, if you use a low-quality flower; as a result, you will also get low-quality rosin, no matter how accurate your process is. Keep in mind that nothing affects the quality of your product more than the quality of your materials. Simply said fire in equals fire out.
People are in love with the golden color of rosin and its rich aromatic terpenes profiles. This is obtained by extracting high quality flower using one of our rosin presses. The RosinPressNY line of rosin presses are all designed with optimal heating plate sizes which enables the rosin to quickly flow off of the heated surface once extracted. This enables the rosin to retain its terpenes flavor and promotes lighter color extractions.
Aside from top shelf flower and ideal heat plate size of your rosin press, Humidity is a critical factor in getting the most yields from your extraction. For squishing flower its very important that your flower be cured at a minimum 62-70% Relative Humidity….this will help get the most out of your flower extraction.
